Liz started playing volleyball at 9 years old. Since then she’s competitively played 13 years including club, high school and college volleyball. Throughout her playing career she exhibited leadership as an athlete, shown by her three years as team captain in high school and two years as captain at Mercer University, which is a Division I, Atlantic Sun Conference School.
She played club volleyball for six years in Chicago. During club, Liz was a silver medalist in the 15′s Open Division, and was also named an 18’s AAU All-American.
In high school, Liz played four years on varsity, three of those years as a starter. As team captain, she led her team to its first Illinois State High School Association Elite Eight (Super Sectional Championship).
In college, she was a starter for four years at Mercer, playing one year as right side and three years as libero. She was A-Sun Second Team All Conference in 2006, and was Atlantic Sun Academic All Conference for three seasons. She received recognition for the Most Digs in a single season in 2006, and she was 2nd in Career Digs and Digs Per Game in the conference. While at Mercer she also served as president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.
In her coaching experience, she was a Marian Catholic High School camp counselor and director for four years. She also was a volunteer assistant coach at First Alliance Volleyball Club and coached a 16 Open team.
When she’s not playing or coaching, she’s working on her doctorate in physical therapy at North Georgia College and State University.
