Kat has played volleyball since eighth grade, going on to play through high school at Brentwood High in Tennessee. Kat lead her Brentwood High team to two TSSAA State championships, where she was named to the 2005 All-Tournament Team and 2007 State Tournament MVP, Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year and Academic All American. Throughout high school, Kat played junior olympic volleyball with Impact VBC in Nashville, TN where she played in the 2003-2006 Junior Olympic Nationals.
Kat played four years at Furman University in Greenville, SC. While there, she helped her team claim two conference championships, becoming the 2008 SoCon Tournament Champions and 2009 SoCon Regular Season Champions. Kat was named the 2008 Belmont Tournament MVP and was also on the 2008-2011 SoCon Academic Honor Roll. After completing her collegiate career, she was introduced to the “adult world” of volleyball when her team won the Hi Neighbor tournament in the Spring of 2011.
Since graduating from Furman and starting Physical Therapy school, Kat have been obsessed with spreading the sport to her classmates. She played beach volleyball several times a week all summer and has recently started playing indoor tournaments. She continues to play in adult tournaments (grass and indoor) in the Atlanta area!
